Atletico Madrid ended the domination of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the competition for the LaLiga title. Los Colchoneros successfully won LaLiga 2020-2021 by finishing above Real Madrid and Barcelona.
At week 38 LaLigaat Jose Zorrilla, the headquarters of Real Valladolid, Atletico struggled to win. Coming from behind 0-1 to Oscar Plano's goal (18 ') Atletico directed by Diego Simeone turned things around.
Starting from Angel Correa's goal in the 57th minute of the comeback Atleticobecame real through Barcelona legend Luis Suarez's goal in the 67th minute. Atletico was able to maintain a 2-1 lead to last until the game ended and won the LaLiga title, while Valladolid relegated.
Meanwhile, in other matches, Madrid also struggled to win against Villarreal at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. Having fallen behind from a goal scored by Yeremi Pino (20 '), El Real turned it around at the end of the match through goals from Karim Benzema (87') and Luka Modric (90 + 2 ').
Unfortunately for Madrid fans, the victory did not mean much because Atletico won at Valladolid headquarters. As a result, Atletico won LaLiga for the first time since the 2013-2014 season.
